We aim to strike a balance between too personalised and too universal.
Because every supplier uses a different removal process, a one-size-fits-all approach to verification doesn’t make sense. But it’s equally important that we can directly compare parts of projects that are alike. Our modular flux framework represents a middle ground between using the same process for each supplier, and using an entirely different process for each.

Both technology and people are central to our service.
Isometric offers buyers confidence in their purchases via a process that would be prohibitive for most to pursue on their own. Our approach will couple technology—including sensors, data pipelines, and simulations to capture data—with physical inspections. We process and verify all data gathered before we share a final assessment with buyers.

Isometric evaluates removals for their durability and uncertainty.
Not everything can be measured, at least not yet. Isometric aims to quantify uncertainty by conducting durability assessments to help buyers purchase carbon removal with more confidence.

Principles
Scientifically rigorous
Climate science is developing fast, and existing certification methodologies struggle to keep up. Isometric leverages the latest science to prove net negativity, durability, and additionality across all pathways. This helps ensure a tonne listed on the registry translates to a tonne of carbon removed in reality, and that that tonne is stored away for a long time.
Transparent
The Isometric platform is built on the full traceability of carbon fluxes: all the way from its removal from its source to its final storage destination. Buyers receive digestible summaries of the removal process, and we also offer the ability to drill down into source data and calculations for those who want the details. Versioning allows the ecosystem to track changes as the science evolves.
Aligned incentives
Carbon removal buyers pay Isometric for verification, and that’s it. Isometric does not sell—or broker the sale of—carbon removal tonnes. Instead, our focus is on providing the growing industry with the rigour it needs. This clarity will improve buyer confidence, and ultimately allow suppliers to sell more tonnes. These realigned incentives are designed to work just as well for today’s small industry as for the scaled-up ecosystem of the future.
Collaborative
Isometric partners with experts in sensor development, physical inspection, and data analysis to verify deliveries. We also actively engage the scientific community for feedback and contributions. Fixing the climate crisis needs to be an open, collaborative, and iterative process, and we invite you to reach out if you would like to partner with us.
