This week, Isometric became the first carbon removal registry to receive approval from all three major accreditation bodies: the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM), the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA) and the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).
ICVCM approved Isometric as a Carbon Crediting Program (CCP) after a thorough evaluation. Isometric is the first registry specifically focused on carbon removals to receive this endorsement. ICVCM is an independent governance body that aims to set and maintain a global standard for high integrity in the voluntary carbon market. This follows endorsement by ICROA earlier this year and recent conditional approval from CORSIA.
This means Isometric can now issue CCP-eligible credits under any protocol that receives approval under ICVCM’s Category Assessment process and has conditional approval to issue Eligible Emissions Units under CORSIA’s First Phase.
Within the past year, Isometric has been thoroughly scrutinized by each of the three major independent accreditation bodies and in every case was found to have met their requirements. Isometric received these accreditations in a relatively short time-frame due to its commitment to scientific rigor and only issuing carbon removal credits of the highest quality.
These accreditations demonstrate that Isometric is raising the bar for scientific rigor and is the leading registry for high quality carbon credits.
