Isometric has issued Alt Carbon’s first verified carbon removal credits, to be delivered to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL). The 221 credits were generated by Alt Carbon’s ‘Darjeeling Revival: Alt x MOL’ project in West Bengal.

Alt Carbon accelerates the Earth’s natural weathering process by working with local communities to spread waste basalt rock powder on agricultural fields. The basalt reacts with carbon dioxide dissolved in rainwater, permanently storing the carbon dioxide as stable bicarbonate ions. This process also boosts soil health, balances pH, and supports stronger crop yields for local farmers.

These credits were certified under Isometric’s Enhanced Weathering in Agriculture Protocol—the most scientifically rigorous on the market. This project was independently validated and verified by 350Solutions. All measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) data were managed with Isometric Certify.

The data and calculations behind each credit are publicly available on the Isometric Registry, providing a permanent audit trail for every credit issued and allowing all underlying information to be independently reviewed and scrutinized.
